Google Analytics Tools

Google analytics started giving more features and reports. The recent developments are Event Tracking, Traffic estimator, Automatic Matching and Custom Reports.

Using event tracking, we can track the downloads of any flash, pdf, zip, exe and bin files. There are two steps to enable event tracking. First step is to create an event tracking object and the second step is to call an event.

Traffic estimator will give us the keyword search traffic and the cost estimates. We can get the
  • Max. Cost Per Click
  • Search Volume
  • Estimated Average CPC
  • Estimated ad position
Automatic matching is a key functionality, which helps to display our ads in targeted searches missed by our keywords. It automatically extends our surplus budget to bring traffic that our keywords missed to bring. A matching will ensure that never exceed our budget. If we are already meeting our daily budgets, automatic matching will have a minimal effect on our account.

This takes the keywords from the landing page and for relevant searches our ads will be shown. If our landing page has irrelevant keywords, enabling this will bring us wrong traffic.

We can define correlations with drag-and-drop simplicity and have the option to build out our own analytics reporting interface that goes beyond single page dashboard creation.

By-Election at a glance

It was a one of the dirtiest election in which both ruling and opposition parties complained each other for bribing the voters. Tamil Nadu has become like Bihar for corruption and bribing during election.

Even though there were clear evidence for the bribing, election commission didn't take any action against the two parties.

At the end ruling party won by a huge margin. They got it from the opposition party.

If this continues, the parliament election will be worser than before. There is no democracy and there no true service minded politician exists in Tamil Nadu.

Corporate Olympiad Cricket

We played the semi finals and the finals of the Corporate Olympiad tennis ball cricket on Sunday. We won the semis comfortably. It was a easy match and the top order completed the match within eight overs. Our team members played very casual in the finals against Precision Info.

Even though it was a back to back match without rest, the fight we gave was not enough. We won Precision Info last year comfortably. But we played a very poor game against them this time. They set a target of 75 runs. We were 19 for six at the end of six overs. We never get back to the game and we lost by 38 runs.

Most of the batsmen got out by facing less than Five balls. For us only the openers are performing. If they fail to perform, we are getting into trouble. This was the worst ever played match by us in the corporate games.

It was a game similar to the one we played in 2008 first league match in V5 corporate cricket, where we were 23 for six at one point. That match was saved by Babu, Lingam and Hudson.

Placing your website pages on top in organic search for core keywords will bring more traffic and increase the revenue. There are many parameters such as Title, URL, Heading, in-bound links etc. decides the position of a website page in organic search.

Dark day of Indian IT industry

Today Satyam Chairman Ramalinga Raju resigned his post and accepted that he has given inflated figures in the balance sheets. This made thousands of employees and share holders in dark. The shares went down to the rock bottom. In US it is down by 90%.

Many don't know what has happened. He has made many illegal transactions to keep the book value high. He has created lot of artificial cash over the past few years and showed inflated profits. This inflated profit slowly grown and at one point it has become unmanageable as the size of company operation grown significantly.

He tried to cover it with the Maytas acquisition and he failed in the process. He tried to cover his fraud with additional fraud. At the end he failed in all his steps.

At the ground level they were having good process and their tracking of performance at the lower level were exceptional. At the same time the middle and upper management was not properly loaded. There were lot of senior level people didn't have responsibility or even not managed projects but were getting more salary. At one point Ramalinga Raju started correcting it in the couple of years.

He also got in to the fame mode and made more crime over the last few years. The first complaint came in 2002 for allegation of improper investments and accounting.

They were barred from World Bank projects for bribing world bank staff in 2005 and is already facing 1 billion fraud case from Upaid.

The fraud issue is going give a big impact on the Indian IT industry. This is going to create Indian IT industry a big set back this year. For Obama, this is a great news and more rules will be applied for Indian outsourcing and this will reduce our growth.

The trust on Indian companies were gone and each and every one of us has to struggle hard to earn respect.

We have thousands of Engineers coming out every year and the slow down will create a big unemployment problem in the next few years.

One good thing will be more engineers will go into their core engineering and the general engineering and the R&D division will get more talented people. This will help us to move to the next level in those areas.

Be bold and be ready to face all the challenges.

We are going to succeed all these and we will grow and become super power in 2020. Yes all these challenges will shape us and all our institutions.

New Year 2009

We are entering into 2009 with so many challenges. We are having economic problems and tense in the Pakistan Border.

In the work, we are having challenge in our growth. We had a decent year 2008. My prediction is we will have a decent first half 2009 also. We don't know about the second half. All depends on the development going to happen in the first half.

There will be some political change happen in 2009. We have parliment election in April 2009. Mostly we will have hung parliment similar to the previous election as BJP is getting strong hold in south.

USA economy is anther factor to be considered. There is a small +ve sign in US Construction industry. Indian economy is growing at the same time the inflation is also at its peek.

Personally, I have challenge in controlling my weight and improve my fitness.
